FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Bioacoustics and Vocal Biomarkers?
Bioacoustics is the study of the patterns and frequencies of human vocalization using vocal biomarkers. It’s a cross between music therapy and biofeedback. We present to our client’s low-frequency sounds that elicit biological and emotional responses that are shown to be stressed in the body.
Although we cannot make any medical claims, the use of vocal biomarkers is now being used by some of the top hospitals and researchers. Read more about vocal biomarkers market size.
For what types of things can you test?
Using a specialized and innovative proprietary process, we can test for vitamins, minerals, muscles, body function, allergies, energy levels, pain, minor injuries, radiation exposure, emotional disturbances, etc.
Do you have to test in person?
Testing can be done remotely with access to appropriate microphone* and computer.
*Suggested microphones:
- FIFINE USB Microphone, Metal Condenser Recording Microphone
- SAMSON Go Mic Video USB Microphone with Web Cam
- Samson Meteor Mic USB Condenser Podcasting Podcast Recording Desktop Microphone
You may use your own condenser microphone if it has a cardioid setting. Noise-cancelling devices will not work for this application.
How do you administer therapy?
Frequencies are sent as WAV files via email and private link. You may then listen through your own device using treatment-specific headphones* or subwoofer.
Please note: If you would like to use your own headphones, please check with us to see if they meet the minimum requirements.
*Suggested headphones are:
How accurate is the test?
Unlike similar methods, our results are quantifiable. Our current testing is based on a proprietary process that has been developed by Roberta Cuffin at BioAcoustic Health™.
Researchers, scientists and practitioners in the field have shown that those people suffering with the same conditions tend towards similar, if not identical, vocal anomalies and vocal biomarkers.
How do you administer the test?
We record our client’s voice by having them speak into a condenser microphone using the cardioid setting, which has been set up specifically to capture the most variables within the voice.
We either show you how to do the recordings yourself, but most likely it will be together through a scheduled Zoom meeting. In-person is by special arrangement only.
Based on my test results, what do I need to do?
First we set up an appointment to review your assessment results.
Based on what plan you choose, you have the option of getting a report only to share with your healthcare provider, if you choose, and/or receiving tone playlist(s) of the associated frequencies for a natural alternative to self-care.
Where did you get your training?
Roberta have done over 2000 vocal assessments through her career as both trainer and practitioner. Her practical experience, as well as her technical background, has given her a knowledge base that very few have achieved.
Training is ongoing and new information is gathered as technology advances, new diseases are discovered, and pathogens change and mutate.
